AcquaVapore S08-TH-B-R: sitting bathtub with door and thermostatic mixer for safe bathing
For people with limited mobility, the AcquaVapore S08-TH-B-R is a sitting bathtub with a side entry and a high-quality thermostatic mixer that lets you enjoy a relaxed seated bath with up to 100 litres of water. The side door, hinged on the right, gives an entry width of 49 cm, which makes getting in considerably easier. Thanks to installation variant B, the bath is suited to being set up against a wall and is kept compact at an external size of 110 x 68 x 114 cm. The neck rest provides extra comfort while you stay in the water.
The bath is particularly suitable in cases of lasting restricted mobility, for example due to multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's, when climbing over a bathtub without a side door has become too demanding. People carrying extra weight also benefit from the wide door opening and the sturdy tub frame when the traditional way in has become unsafe. The AcquaVapore S08-TH-B-R thus creates the conditions for an independent, safe bath. In our selection of senior bathtubs you will find further models for low-barrier bathing in later life.
Door, seating area and water functions in detail
The side door of the sitting bathtub opens with the hinge on the right and frees an entry width of 49 cm, which also allows transferring from a wheelchair. The door is made of acrylic with fibreglass reinforcement and has a special seal as well as a triple locking system with an additional safety catch that ensures a tight seal before filling. A door drainage system makes sure that no water escapes once the door is opened at the end of the bath. The low entry over the door makes access mobility-friendly, without having to climb over a conventional high tub rim.
The seated bath is designed for an immersion depth of 66 cm, so that when seated the water reaches up to the stomach or chest. The inner seat height is about 38 cm and the seat measures around 40 x 50 cm. As a special comfort feature, a neck rest is integrated to support the head while bathing. The „Extra Deep" design allows a water level that surrounds the body up to the chest when seated. Made from fibreglass-reinforced acrylic, the bath stands on a height-adjustable stainless steel frame and so compensates for uneven floors. The thermostatic mixer in polished brass with a ceramic cartridge allows a precise temperature pre-selection and protects against sudden scalding during shower use.
