Shower cabins
Complete shower: cabin, shower tray and fitting in one package
A complete shower comes ready assembled. Cabin, shower tray, fitting and showers are part of the delivery, you do not have to search anything out individually and do not have to check anything for an exact fit. That is the actual difference from a tiled shower niche, for which the tray, partition and fitting are bought separately and coordinated with one another. At Seniorbad the category comprises 308 models in nine series.
Why the package is simpler in practice
When buying individually, three things have to be coordinated. The dimensions of the tray, the connection distance of the fitting and the drillings in the rear wall or in the tile. If a centimetre is missing at one point, in the end nothing fits. With the complete package this coordination is already done, because all parts were developed for the same model.
On top of this comes the second, often underestimated point: a complete shower needs no tiled walls in the shower area. The rear walls are part of the cabin. Anyone who replaces an old tub or converts a bathroom thereby saves the complete tile build-up in the wet area, that is, material, labour hours and drying time.
Series, sizes and equipment
The range comprises the D10, D26, D27, D30, D37, D38, D46, D58 and D60 series. They differ in the basic shape, in the door system and in the range of functions. The D10 is the plain quarter-circle cabin with a sliding door that needs no swing range. The D38 is square and works with a pivot door. The higher series bring a rain shower head, side jets and multiple diverters, some of them additionally a steam function.
Among the dimensions the range extends from the compact corner solution in 80x80 cm through the common formats 90x90 cm and 100x100 cm to the large cabin in 130x130 cm. In addition there are rectangular variants in 120x80 cm and 140x90 cm, which are interesting when an existing bathtub is replaced, because its footprint often corresponds exactly to this cut.
Models with a thermostat carry the abbreviation Th in the product name, the details L and R designate the orientation of the cabin. Check this detail carefully, it determines whether the door opens to the right side in your bathroom.
For the choice a rough division helps. The series with a low number are the plain cabins with a hand shower, intended for normal everyday use and for bathrooms in which the main thing is that it should work. The series with a higher number bring more technology, from the rain shower head through side jets to a steam function. Between the two ends lies a clear price range, and both are the right choice depending on use.
Three decisions before ordering
First the size. Measure the free room in the corner, not the wall length, and check whether the washbasin, toilet or radiator protrudes into the area. Second the door system: a sliding door with little space in front, a pivot door when there is free area and the wider door opening is more important to you. Third the depth of equipment, that is, whether a hand shower is enough or whether a rain shower head and side jets should be added.
A fourth point concerns the ceiling height. Closed cabins with a roof and a rain shower head need more clear height than open models. Measure at the planned position, especially with sloping or suspended ceilings. With tight height, a model without a fixed roof is the more practical solution.
Material, assembly and related categories
The cabins are made of safety glass with aluminium profiles, the shower tray and rear wall of fibreglass-reinforced acrylic. A coating on the glass noticeably eases cleaning.
If you are looking specifically for a size, the pages shower cabin 80x80, shower cabin 90x90 and shower cabin 100x100 lead directly to the selection. Models with a steam function are under steam showers, the overview of all designs under shower cubicles. Anyone who additionally wants to bathe will also find shower and bathtub in one with us, on the same footprint.
Frequently asked questions about complete showers
Part of the package are the cabin with rear walls and door, the shower tray, the fitting and the showers. Depending on the series, a rain shower head, side jets, lighting or a control panel are added. The exact scope is stated with each model in the product description.
Not included are silicone, connection hoses and whatever else is needed on site. That varies from bathroom to bathroom and is added during assembly.
No, the rear walls are part of the cabin and close off the wet area. That is exactly what makes the design interesting for conversions, because the tile build-up in the shower area is eliminated.
The base must, however, be level and load-bearing, so that the shower tray stands cleanly. Check the floor beforehand with a spirit level.
For the pure material price, the two routes are often close to each other. The difference arises with the additional costs: no tiles in the shower area, fewer labour hours, no coordination between parts from different manufacturers.
On top of that is the risk when buying individually that a part does not fit and has to be reordered. Therefore do not calculate product against product, but the overall project against the overall project.
Often yes, and for this case there are the rectangular formats. A tub usually occupies an area that comes very close to a cabin cut, so that no wall has to be changed.
The critical point is the drain. On a tub it sits at one end, on a shower tray usually centrally or in a corner. Compare the dimensioned drawing of the model with your situation before you order.
Two people are sensible, because the glass elements have to be held during alignment. The time required is about half a day for a simple cabin, for a fully equipped model rather a whole one.
The largest part of the time goes not into the assembly, but into the clean alignment of the profiles and the sealing. Additionally allow for the drying time of the silicone before the cabin is used for the first time.
