Shower bath combination: shower in the morning and bathe in the evening
Shower or bathtub? Anyone who has a shower bath combination does not have to decide. Both functions share one footprint. That saves space and solves a problem that is real in many bathrooms: too little room for two separate installations, but not wanting to do without either of them.
Shower bath combination in three variants
Seniorbad offers the shower bath combination in various versions. The steam shower with whirlpool bath brings spa functions, such as the AcquaVapore K70 in 150x150 cm with a steam function and whirlpool jets. The shower with whirlpool concentrates on massage jets without steam. And the shower cabin with tray is the classic combination of a full cabin and an integrated bathtub. Anyone who places particular value on an easy entry finds a senior-friendly solution with a whirlpool in the AcquaVapore S02D senior shower bath. Notes on planning an age-appropriate bathroom you will find in our guide.
AcquaVapore shower bath combinations made of acrylic

Frequently asked questions about shower bath combinations
A shower bath combination is a fully enclosed cabin that combines bathtub, shower and, depending on the model, a steam bath as well as a whirlpool function in a single freestanding unit, and thereby saves space for separate installations. It consists of a floor tub for bathing, an integrated shower cabin above it with glass walls, and a rain shower head and hand shower.
The principle is particularly suitable for bathrooms in which there is not enough room for a separate shower and bathtub. As the cabin is completely enclosed, you need no tiled shower niche and no separate sealing of the walls. Anyone looking only for a shower without a tub function finds more compact alternatives among the complete shower cabins from 90 x 90 cm.
Depending on the model, a shower bath combination unites up to six functions in one system: a rain shower head and hand shower for daily body care, a bathtub for full baths, whirlpool jets in the tub for targeted water massages, a steam generator for a steam bath, massage jets in the side walls and LED lighting.
Not every model has all functions. Before buying, consider which features you will actually use, as every additional function increases the price, the power requirement and the care effort. A steam generator, for example, has to be descaled regularly, and whirlpool jets require a monthly deep clean. Anyone looking specifically for wellness functions without a tub function can also consider a comfort shower with steam and massage.
Shower bath combinations are available in the basic dimensions 140 x 140 cm and 150 x 150 cm (models K60 and K70). As they are closed, freestanding units, you need no tiled niche. In addition to the base area, plan extra space for the cabin door and a small clearance to the walls for access to the connections.
Caring for a shower bath combination with a whirlpool and steam function covers three areas: the whirlpool jets should be rinsed briefly with clear water after each use, so that no soap residue collects in the pipe system. Once a month, a deep clean with a special whirlpool cleaner is advisable, which removes limescale and biofilm from the pipes.
Descale the steam generator in accordance with the manufacturer instructions. The intervals depend on the water hardness and the frequency of use. After the steam bath, leave the cabin door open so that the moisture can escape and no mould forms. Clean the acrylic surfaces of the tub with a mild cleaner and a soft cloth. Avoid scouring agents and strongly acidic cleaners.
For a shower bath combination you need hot and cold water connections, a floor-level waste water connection and a fused 230 V power line with a residual current device. The power connection supplies the pump for the whirlpool jets, the LED lighting, the steam generator and, if applicable, a fan.
Always have the power connection made by an approved electrical specialist firm. Before buying, check whether your existing electrical installation can cope with an additional load of this power class. The waste water connection should be at floor level, so that the water drains reliably. You should avoid long hose lines between the cabin and the wall connection, as they increase the risk of leaks.
