Showers at Seniorbad: complete showers, steam showers and senior showers

Our showers come as a complete package. Cabin, shower tray, fitting and showers belong together, you do not have to search out anything separately and you need no tiles in the shower area. Which design suits your bathroom depends above all on the footprint and on the desired equipment.

Which shower suits your bathroom?

You can see all models at a glance under Shower cabins. If you can do without a steam function, the shower cubicles are the right choice, they come as a quarter-circle, square or rectangular. The steam showers additionally have a built-in steam generator.

Anyone who does not want to give up bathing entirely finds both shower and bathtub in one on a single footprint. For an easier entry there are senior showers with a tub door and a low threshold.

The sizes at a glance

The cabins with a square base or as a quarter-circle come in the basic dimensions 80x80 cm, 90x90 cm and 100x100 cm, plus rectangular models from 120x80 cm. If you are unsure which size fits your bathroom, we are happy to advise you by phone.

Frequently asked questions about showers

In the area of complete systems, three main types can be distinguished: complete shower cabins are closed units with their own shower tray, rear walls and an integrated fitting in compact dimensions (90 x 90 or 100 x 100 cm). Senior showers additionally offer a steam generator, whirlpool jets and massage jets in larger dimensions (140 x 140 or 150 x 150 cm). Shower bath combinations with an integrated tub combine shower and bathtub in a closed cabin.

What all three types have in common is that they are delivered as finished systems and need no tiled shower niche. They are set up free in the room and connected to the existing water, waste water and (depending on the model) power connections. This makes installation considerably simpler than a conventional shower conversion with tiles and sealing.

No, a tiled shower niche is not required for complete shower cabins and comfort showers, because these are closed units with their own rear walls and shower tray. They are set up free in the room. There is no need for elaborate sealing and tiling of the surrounding walls. You only need a water and waste water connection and, for models with a pump or steam generator, a power connection.

This simplifies not only the initial installation, but also a later replacement. The floor under and around the cabin should be level and load-bearing. Make sure that the waste water connection is close to the floor, so that the water drains reliably. In rented flats the free-standing installation can be an advantage, because no structural changes to walls or floor are needed.

The most effective measure against limescale marks and soap residue is to go over the glass surfaces briefly with a squeegee after each shower. This takes only a few seconds and considerably reduces the cleaning effort. For thorough cleaning, a mild bathroom cleaner without scouring particles is suitable, applied with a soft cloth or sponge.

The acrylic shower tray is sensitive to aggressive cleaning agents, scouring powder and hard brushes. These can scratch the surface and make it dull. Use an acrylic cleaner or mild all-purpose cleaner instead. Check the drain regularly and clean the strainer to prevent blockages. For models with a steam function, leave the cabin door open after use so that the residual moisture can escape.

For a simple complete shower cabin without electrical functions, a hot and cold water connection and a floor-level waste water connection are sufficient. Models with LED lighting, a fan or a radio additionally need a 230 V power connection. For comfort showers with a steam generator and whirlpool jets, a fused power connection with a residual current device is mandatory.

Always have electrical connections in the bathroom carried out by an approved electrical specialist firm. Special regulations apply in wet areas regarding protection class and minimum distances of electrical installations. The water connections should be near the installation position to avoid long hose lines.
