Below you will find information on the care costs subsidy of their health / care insurance.
A possible subsidy from the health insurance you can apply for the baths. Subsidy from nursing care insurance and/or health insurance? The use of aids and the adaptation of the home to personal abilities and needs promote self-determined living and enable people to remain in their own homes. Under certain conditions, the costs for the purchase and installation of these baths are subsidized by the nursing care insurance funds with up to 4400 euros. If a care level exists, the cost bearers almost always subsidize the bathroom conversion measures. Why is there a subsidy? The nursing care insurance was introduced on 01.01.1995. The nursing care insurance law (PflegeVG) was incorporated into the social security code (SGb xi) as the 11th book. The benefits are essentially divided into benefits for home care and benefits for inpatient care. Benefits for home care and inpatient care must be applied for from their long-term care insurance fund, which is affiliated with their health insurance fund. All members of a statutory health insurance (e.g. workers, employees, trainees, students, pensioners) are insured in the nursing care insurance. Voluntarily insured members of a health insurance fund and persons with private health insurance are also required to be insured under the long-term care insurance scheme. Legal basis for the subsidy: 'Provision of the person in need of care with care aids and technical aids § 40 (4) SGb xi (27.12.2003 (bGbl. i s. 3022) "(4) The long-term care insurance funds can provide subsidiary financial subsidies for measures to improve the individual living environment of the person in need of care, for example, for technical aids in the home, if in individual cases this enables or significantly facilitates home care or restores an independent lifestyle of the person in need of care. The amount of the subsidies is to be determined taking into account the costs of the measure and an appropriate personal contribution depending on the income of the person in need of care. The subsidies may not exceed an amount of 4400 euros per measure." The full text of the law can also be found at the Federal Ministry of Health. In the area of home care, the amount of the benefit is graded according to the degree of the established need for care (care levels I to III). For necessary care-related renovation measures in the home of the person in need of care (e.g. door enlargements, removal of barriers, etc.), the amount of the benefit depends on the degree of care required: Door enlargements, removal of door thresholds, creation of floor-level access to the shower or installation of a bathroom system), the long-term care insurance fund may pay a subsidy of up to 4400 euros.
