AcquaVapore S08-A-L, sitting bathtub with door, extra-deep design and neck rest
A side door, a compact seating area and an immersion depth of 66 cm: this is the AcquaVapore S08-A-L. This sitting bathtub with side entry is aimed at people who want to enjoy a bath safely and independently in their own home, without having to climb high over a tub rim. The side door provides generous access over a low door threshold, so that daily bathing remains a pleasant routine even as mobility declines. The bath is supplied in positioning variant A (left corner) with the door hinged on the left and is designed for wall mounting in the room corner.
The mobility-friendly construction is particularly suitable in cases of balance disorders, for reducing the risk of falls, and also provides valuable help with forward-looking bathroom planning for later living. Anyone who thinks today about tomorrow gains a degree of independence with an age-appropriate bathing system. The compact external dimensions of 110 cm × 68 cm × 114 cm (L × W × H) allow it to be fitted into smaller bathrooms too. Our page on senior bathtubs gives an overview of all low-threshold baths of this kind.
Door, seating area and water functions in detail
Entry into the S08-A-L is via a side door with the door hinged on the left. The step-in width is 49 cm, which ensures a generously sized entry and makes transferring from a wheelchair easier. A low door threshold makes getting in safer compared with a conventional bathtub. The reinforced door closes by means of a triple locking system with a special seal and an additional safety catch as a secondary lock. An integrated door drainage reliably removes residual water after the bath.
Inside, the extra-deep design offers a usable immersion depth of 66 cm. When seated, the water reaches up to the stomach, and depending on body height up to the chest. An integrated neck rest supports a relaxed head position. The seating surface measures around 40 cm × 50 cm (width × depth) on the inside, and the seat height is about 38 cm. The drain is positioned off-centre, which keeps the leg space clear. The tub body is made of fibreglass-reinforced acrylic and rests on a height-adjustable stainless steel frame that compensates for small unevenness in the floor. The factory-fitted tap is designed as a single-lever mixer made of polished brass. Water consumption is around 100 litres.
