AcquaVapore S08D-TH-B-L: senior shower bath with a door and an acrylic shower attachment
With the AcquaVapore S08D-TH-B-L, Seniorbad.de offers a solution for people who rely on safety and comfort when they bathe. The bathtub with a door combines a full sit bath with a built-in acrylic shower attachment, which also lets you shower in your familiar bathtub. The model is designed for installation variant B, that is for placement against a wall, and is supplied with the door hinged on the left. The external dimensions are 110 x 68 x 205 cm (L x W x H).
As mobility declines with age, the usual step into a conventional bathtub becomes increasingly difficult. The same applies to home care, where a carer supports the user getting in, and a wide, accessible bath door is a decisive advantage. Entering from the side through the door makes getting in considerably easier and turns the daily bath back into a safe routine. In our overview of sitting bathtubs you will find a comprehensive comparison of all models.
Entry, seat and water: the most important functions
The bath door opens to the side and gives an entry width of 49 cm, which allows a generous step in or a transfer from a wheelchair. The door is fitted with a safety catch and a triple lock, so that it closes reliably and watertight while filling. An additional locking mechanism at the lower part of the door ensures that no water escapes even as the water pressure rises. When the door is opened after the bath, the door drainage leads the remaining water out of the door frame before the user steps out.
Inside there is an ergonomically shaped seating area with a seat height of about 38 cm and a seat surface of around 40 x 50 cm (width x depth). As a sitting bathtub, the S08D-TH-B-L is designed so that you sit upright in the water; the immersion depth is 66 cm, so that when seated the water reaches up to the stomach or chest. This model carries the "Extra Deep" feature, which on a sitting bathtub of this design means a noticeably deeper water level compared with standard sit baths. A neck rest in the tub body gives additional support while you relax. The water volume is around 100 litres, which is resource-saving and at the same time sufficient for a full sit bath. A height-adjustable stainless steel frame provides a secure stance, while the tub body itself is made of fibreglass-reinforced acrylic. The acrylic shower attachment, which is the reason for the "D" in the model name, is likewise made of acrylic and allows the tub to be used additionally as a shower bath combination without having to fill the basin. The thermostatic mixer with a diverter is made of brass and is polished and chrome-plated; the integrated diverter switches between tub bathing and shower operation.
